Getting the most out of your equipment during downtime

After investing much money into a piece of equipment, it is a priority to recoup the cost as quickly as possible.  In the case of our CNC circuit board plotter, we been putting it to good use, but there are still periods of downtime when we are not using it for its intended purpose of cutting circuit boards.
So we have two options.  We could leave the CNC off doing nothing, or we can find other applications in which it can generate additional revenue for the company, even if the scope of the projects fall out of the company's primary business model.  It should not matter.  Money is green, and that green will get us out of the red that much quicker.
Case in point, we are using FR-4 material to cut custom and prototype panels, grilles, wiring boards, fan guards and engraved nameplates for local customers and student's projects.  We can work on an area up to 8 x 10 inches with material as thick as 1/8 inch with or without copper cladding.  Great for design-proving and neatening up messy wiring.

New GPS Splitter Line Coming Soon

Werbel Microwave has successfully prototyped and is developing what will become a line of GPS splitters in both active and passive configurations, from 2 to 16 branches. With DC blocking and load resistors on outputs in any or all configuration, per customer requirement.   VSWR is < -15dB and insertion loss is 0 +/- 1 dB.  Isolation is 18 dB minimum.  +5VDC supply for active splitters can be connected by feed-through or bias tee.

Werbel Microwave Develops 8-12GHz 2-way Splitters

Model WMPD02-8-12-N from Werbel Microwave LLC is a 2-way splitter that covers the 8-12GHz band.  It is available in a housing measuring 1.8 x 1.5 x 0.8 inches and is available with either N or SMA female connectors.  VSWR is specified 1.4:1 or better at all ports.  Insertion loss is typically 0.5 dB max, and isolation is 18 dB minimum.  Phase balance is specified +/- 4 degrees.  The unit is designed for 10W in splitter operation.  Made in USA by Werbel Microwave LLC.

Directional Coupler Spans 700MHz to 6 GHz at 6 dB coupling.

Werbel Microwave continues to develop excellent products for cellular, WiFi, internet of things, and many more wireless applications.  Offered in a standard housing measuring 5.8 x 2.0 x 0.8 inches.  MADE IN U.S.A.

Figure 2. Directionality measurement.  Obtained from subtracting the Coupling response (in memory) from the isolation (connected in reverse).  As you can see from the plot, excellence is a standard feature of Werbel Microwave products.
Figure 3.  Insertion Loss.   Includes splitting loss due to coupling effect.  Insertion loss by material alone is approximately 0.6 dB at the highest frequency point.
